Chief Vigilance Officer and Vigilance Officers

The probity and transparency are to be maintained by public servants at all times and is a pre-requisite for effective good governance. Vigilance Officers function at ICAR Institutes as representative of Chief Vigilance Officer of ICAR. He/She maintains a close watch on the functioning and performance of institute at various levels. Vigilance Officer also plays an important role to guide or assist Head of Institute in administrative, financial and vigilance matters for overall improvement of the Institute.

Main Functions of Vigilance Officers

  • Vigilance Officers function at ICAR Institutes as representative of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of ICAR. They furnish periodic reports on various issues related to the institute having vigilance angle.
  • Maintains a close watch on the functioning and performance of the institute at various levels especially from vigilance point of view.
  • Periodically review and modify the working procedures so as to minimize the scope of mal-practices and harassment to the public.
  • Assist and guide Head of the Institute in all administrative, financial and vigilance matters for overall improvement of the organization.
